Nanorod structure published!

12 May 2023

We are excited to announce the latest publication from our Founder and CSO Prof. Jasna Rakonjac, titled:

“Cryo-electron microscopy of the f1 filamentous phage reveals insights into viral infection and assembly”

This article has just been published in Nature Communications! This work was carried out in collaboration between the laboratory of Prof. Rakonjac at Massey University (now the site of Nanophage Technologies) and the laboratory of Dr. Vicki Gold at Exeter University. Notably, this work involved solving the structures of the minor coat proteins (the end of the f1 phage particles) that would otherwise have been impossible to solve without our nanorods, using the system created by previous PhD student and past employee, Rayen Leon.
